2021-2022 Kindergarten News

A general information session was held Tuesday, January 19, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm for families of children who will be entering kindergarten in Fall 2021. This was a virtual meeting which has been recorded.

Online registration will open on January 20th; registrations should be completed by February 12th to be included in the kindergarten school lottery.

There will be no in-person school tours this year. Each school will hold a virtual informational meeting. The schedule of these meetings is:
-Tuesday, January 26, 6:15pm-7:15pm - Merriam
7:30pm-8:30pm - Gates
-Tuesday, February 2, 6:15pm-7:15pm - Blanchard
7:30pm-8:30pm - Conant
-Tuesday, February 9, 6:15pm-7:15pm - Douglas;
7:30pm-8:30pm - McCarthy-Towne

2021-2022 Kindergarten Registration

Please note that your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2021 to register for kindergarten. This is an Acton-Boxborough school policy and there are no exceptions.

Kindergarten Transportation Form

Once you have been assigned to a school, please submit the Kindergarten Transportation form to let us know where the bus should pick up and drop off your child each day. This form also lets you opt out of bus transportation. Please return the completed form by FAX (978-264-3344) or mail to:

Kindergarten Registration

Welcome! Once you are settled in Acton or Boxborough and are ready to pre-register your children for school...

Gather your required documents (see list below).
Pre-register to create an online account and upload the required documents.

Online registration will open January 20, 2021 for kindergartners starting in Fall 2021.

Required Documents

Download the required pre-registration forms below:

Proof of Residency Affidavit
Proof of Residency - One item from each column on the affadavit: A, B, and C. (If you are unable to provide an item from the column B because you just moved to town, you can bring it later.
Student birth certificate
Medical Records (from your family doctor) including:
- School Health Record Form (a copy of your child's last complete physical examination)
- Certification of Immunizations (For translated immunization requirements: follow this link.)
A copy of the last IEP (Individual Education Plan) if the child has special needs (learning disabilities)

Additional Form for Children who Attend Preschool Outside the District

This additional Kindergarten Registration form is for students who attend school outside Acton or Boxborough. Please have your Early Childhood program complete this Pre-kindergarten Assessment Form.

Pre-kindergarten Assessment Form

Local preschools will automatically forward this form to the school around May. Parents do not need to worry about this form unless your child attends school outside Acton or Boxborough.
